Where Winds Meet Qinghe Cat Guide: Where To Find Every Furry Jerk And Magic Feline

Ancient China meets internet cat culture in Where Winds Meet, and the developers leaned into it hard.

Cats aren’t just decorative in this Wuxia RPG—they’re tied directly to your progression. Qinghe, the game’s opening area, hides dozens of felines that reward you with Exploration Points and valuable upgrades. The catch? Where Winds Meet never bothers explaining that cats come in two varieties: Cat Play kittens (regular cats you pet for rewards) and Meow Meows (challenge-giving magical cats that test your skills). This guide covers every single cat location in Qinghe so you can collect them all efficiently. (Interactive map credit to Map Genie)

The “Cat Play” Kittens (Free Exploration Points) : Where Winds Meet Qinghe

These cats ask nothing from you except a quick pet. Qinghe contains 21 of these adorable strays waiting to be discovered.

Each kitten you find contributes to your “Sentient Beings” collection while granting Area Exploration points. Consider this easy XP—just walk up and hit the “Pet” button. Ignoring these means missing out on progression and leaving lonely cats behind.

Meow Meow Challenges (The Puzzles)

Meow Meows demand more than affection—they require you to prove yourself. Completing their challenges rewards you with Bells, the exclusive currency for the Meow Meow Temple Shop where you purchase cosmetics and useful items.

Qinghe hosts 31 Meow Meow challenges. These split into four categories: Will-o’-the-Wisp (timed racing challenges), Puzzles (brain teasers), Bamboo Cut (combat trials), and Cat Chase (platforming courses).

The Logic Puzzles

These challenges test your problem-solving abilities. Many require unlocking specific Mystic Skills before you can complete them. When you’re stuck, verify whether you’ve acquired the necessary skill (such as “Wind Sense” or “Meridian Touch”).
