If you are stuck in a corner of Stella Montis, desperately mashing the extraction button and hoping for a miracle: we have some unfortunate news for you.
The “Cold Snap” update launched today, bringing festive vibes, snowy landscapes, and a fairly priced skill tree reset. What nobody expected was a game-breaking bug that has left players stranded across every server.
The Stella Montis Trap : ARC Raiders
The problem affects all maps, but Stella Montis suffers the worst of it. This new location relies heavily on indoor environments, featuring interconnected tunnels and facilities where doors are essential for navigation rather than simple background decoration.
Currently, the “Press E” prompt appears on doors as expected, but roughly 25% of the time, pressing it does absolutely nothing. Players find themselves trapped inside rooms or locked out entirely, turning what should be an exciting new map into an inescapable labyrinth of frustration.
The Extraction Nightmare
Broken doors would be manageable on their own. The real disaster is that extraction points suffer from the same bug.
For an extraction shooter, this represents the absolute worst-case scenario. Players can grind for 20 minutes, collect valuable loot, fend off enemies, and survive harsh conditions, only to discover the extraction button simply will not respond. There is no escape.
Multiple reports have surfaced of entire squads watching the timer expire and losing everything because the game refused to register the one interaction needed to secure their run. For a game built around extraction mechanics, this bug could not be more devastating.
Wait For The Hotfix
To be fair, this is clearly an unintended issue introduced with Patch 1.7.0. Embark did not design the update to permanently trap players in frozen underground facilities.
That said, until a hotfix arrives, avoid loading into Stella Montis with valuable equipment. Honestly, consider skipping raids altogether unless you are willing to accept that a random glitch might cost you everything.
Take comfort knowing you are not alone. The entire community is sitting in the lobby, waiting for functional doors.
