Poppy Playtime Chapter 5: All Codes, Passwords & Puzzle Solutions

Poppy Playtime 5 Guide: Every Code and Password

Playtime Co apparently spent their entire renovation budget on biometric security systems and exactly zero dollars on keeping employees alive.

The Laboratories sector in Chapter 5 is a nightmare of locked doors, UV-hidden passcodes, valve sequences, and digital keypads that stand between you and surviving each encounter. If that weren’t enough, several of those solutions are scrawled in invisible ink on walls you’d never think to scan — while something with way too many teeth is actively trying to find you.

Every corridor has been mapped, every UV surface scanned, and every code written down so you don’t have to die mid-run just to remember a three-digit combination. Below is a complete breakdown of every mandatory code and optional puzzle solution in Chapter 5.

Early Game Tool Codes

The opening section of the Laboratories is completely locked off until you upgrade your Grabpack. These two codes are not optional — no workarounds, no skipping ahead.

Pressure Hand Locker Code: 0859

Found in the Main Office and Boilers area. There’s a locked cabinet in this room containing the Pressure Hand upgrade. Flip over the whiteboard nearby, switch on your Glowby UV light, and shine it across the back surface. The code 0859 appears written in invisible ink inside a circle. Enter it into the locker and collect your new tool.

Master Backup Files: 560

Found in the Engineering Workshop. This one actually makes you work for it. Start by shining the UV light on the whiteboard to uncover a partial hint. Then look through the adjacent window at the shelving unit marked “SP” and use your Blacklight again to find the container stamped with the corresponding clue numbers. Head out onto the metal walkway to locate the final digit on a specific container. For most players, the resulting code is 560. If it doesn’t work, the puzzle has a randomized variant — retrace the UV steps manually to get your specific combination.

Environmental Puzzles and Locked Doors

The middle portion of Chapter 5 stops handing you number pads and starts throwing valve mechanics and symbol sequences at you instead.

Red Smoke Valve Puzzle

Located inside the Pirate Ship memory segment. The room is choked with toxic red smoke that physically prevents you from pushing forward. Clearing it requires activating a series of valves in a precise order: Triangle, Star, Circle, Hexagon. Once all four are set correctly, run to the control room and throw the lever. Return to the now-clear room and use your Conductive Hand to ignite the chemistry pot.

The Memories Machine Door: Fully Randomized

Don’t go searching for a universal code here — there isn’t one. The developers built this door around a personalized six-digit sequence generated uniquely for each player. You have to complete all three Huggy Wuggy memory sequences. After each one, the machine outputs two digits of your code. Sit through all three, collect all six digits, and then use the complete sequence on the door.

The Emotion Keypad Door

Found in the Conditioning Area. This door is optional but hides a secret VHS tape worth grabbing if you’re going for full completion — the kind of hidden content that rewards players who push past the main objective, similar to tracking down all Crow Relics in Crisol: Theater of Idols. The keypad uses cartoon emotion faces rather than numbers. The solution is revealed during Huggy Wuggy’s final memory breakout sequence. Input them in this order: Happy, Happy, Disgust, Sad, Fear, Happy.

Late Game Codes and Collectibles

The final stretch of Chapter 5 keeps throwing codes at you while the threat level spikes. Know these before you need them — stopping to read scattered notes while being hunted is how runs end badly.

BLANKY Blankz Collectible Locker: 1936

Located inside Huggy Wuggy’s projector arena. There’s a standalone locker sitting in the open while you’re using Kissy Missy projectors to distract Huggy. The four-digit code is split across sheets of paper hidden in the safe rooms around the perimeter. Save yourself the trouble: the code is 1936. Enter it the moment you step into the arena, before Huggy’s aggression pattern escalates. This kind of pre-emptive collectible hunting — going for optional items before a zone locks you out — is the same approach that works for tracking down every pet location in Starsand Island before you miss the window.

Lily’s Piano Puzzle

Found on the upper floor of Lily Lovebraids’ mansion. Use the Pressure Hand to release a party guest trapped inside a statue in the music room. Once free, they’ll need you to perform a specific sequence on the piano. The standard solution is Star, Diamond, Flower, Heart. If that sequence doesn’t register, check the room for visible sheet music that displays your randomized key order.

The Final Door Codes

Three quick codes back-to-back in the Surgical and Observation areas close out the chapter. Know them cold.

Backup Red Door: 7802

The four digits are technically spread across separate sheets of paper in the same room, but you can skip the scavenger hunt entirely. The code is 7802.

Surgical Rooms Corridor: 231

Punch 231 into the three locked doors above the Grand Stitchery. This gives you access to the surgery suites on the floor below.

Red VHS Tape Cabinet: 728

Inside Surgery Room 2. Scan the walls near the lab equipment with your UV light to reveal the code written in invisible ink. The combination is 728. Open the cabinet to claim the final piece of collectible media in the chapter. If you’re working through the full VHS tape collection, make sure you’ve grabbed the earlier ones before the autosave system checkpoints past them — missing collectibles due to progression locks is one of the most common frustrations in games like this, and it’s just as punishing here as it is when chasing a 100% trophy run in Nioh 3.

Summary

Chapter 5 front-loads its complexity with UV-hidden codes and backs it up with randomized sequences and symbol puzzles in the mid-game. Most codes are fixed — memorize the table at the top of this guide and you’ll move through the Laboratories without unnecessary deaths. For the Memories Machine, there’s no shortcut: play all three sequences and write down your digits as they appear.
